When Chaos Knocks, Answer With Love

This piece popped up in my Facebook memories this morning, and it seemed like a good time to re-share it.  It’s been a year since the election that shook the country, and our call to action is louder than ever.

This morning, the shock is echoing around the world. Things feel dangerous, chaotic, shaky, seismic. People are afraid, grief-stricken, stunned, speechless.

But, consider this:

My friend, Laura, has said many times that the greatest change comes out of chaos.

Chaos holds all possibilities.

And the energy on Planet Earth right now is one of polarization, uncovering secrets, and shining light into the dark corners. We are witnessing the manifestation of this on a global scale. Our beloved Gaia is letting us know, as loudly and clearly as She can, that things cannot continue on in the way they have been.

chaos

Think about how our emotions manifest as physical pain. We know we need to leave the soul-sucking job and move in the direction of our dreams, yet we do nothing. Our energetic bodies react first by making us angry, irritable, and out of sorts. Yet we continue. Our bodies then start to get in on the messaging with aches that are out of proportion, pains that have no apparent root, we get sick more often and it takes longer to get well. Yet, we still ignore the knowing inside us. Finally, our bodies break down, refusing to work another day, walk another step, lift another box or pen or telephone receiver. We cannot, physically continue in the job that shrivels our soul. Our body has forced us to stop, notice, take action. There is no other choice.

That is where we are as citizens of the US, and, truly, the world.

Our collective energy has finally given us an unmistakable sign to wake up, embrace the love and change and peace we say we espouse, defend those more helpless than us, rise up in righteous anger to say, “No! We will not stand for this!”  We can no longer sit passively by, not stepping fully into our Divine selves, fearing judgement or ridicule or failure. Our failure is in not standing by our principles. We don’t need the President to give us permission to do this, or do it for us. We do this in the small moments of our every day, in each interaction.

When we choose love, compassion, and peace over division, hatred and violence, we are taking action to stop the descent and turn it around.

More than ever before, the Earth needs you to uncover your Light. Shine it on the people you encounter at the grocery store, both the guy whose minivan is covered in anti-everyone-but-white-men stickers and the Hispanic family who stands too close to you in line. Shine it on your friends and loved ones, but also on the coworker who tells sexist jokes in the breakroom (and take appropriate boundary-setting actions). Shine it on the people who agree with you and those who don’t. Shine it on your leaders, your bosses, the salespeople, the drivers who are on the road with you. Shine it on everyone you meet, everyone you see, everyone in the world.  The Field of Infinite Possibilities that is the chaos we see right now will react by manifesting the loving, peaceful world we want.

We need the catalyst that is the election of a man so many people despise. We needed him to be elected. We needed this wake up call to change. Would we have felt so angry, so ready to fight for the people who have been targeted in this man’s rhetoric, if he had not been elected? or would it have been business -slow, bigoted, painful business- as usual? Nothing has changed in this country with the election of Donald Trump. Things have only been outlined in neon, flashing yellow, things that were already truths of this country.  Nothing is new. It is only out in the open now. And you cannot change where you’re going until you know where you are.

Now, we know where we are. We know where we stand. And it has never been more true that we need, each of us, to find in ourselves the love, beauty, and peace we want to see in the world. Become that which you most desire. Embody those ideals you hold most dear. Your doing so will cause untold ripples in the fabric of the Universe, touching those who are still afraid, those almost ready to stand up, step up into their power as loving human beings. People learn best by example, and we long for good ones to follow. So, be that example. Show your friends and neighbors what it means to be kind, loving, compassionate, and protective. Show them what it looks like to set clear boundaries, with love, respect, and an unshakable sense of self-worth.

That will be the legacy of Mr. Trumps presidency: a country full of people who know their own worth, who stand together to defend that worth and the planet we love. A country full of men and women who will not stand for racism, sexism, divisionism, or anything that smacks of values other than love, acceptance, compassion, and peace.

We do not have to follow a bad example. We are leaders of ourselves. The power is ours to create the world we want with every interaction.

Kari Samuels’ October Forecast

Welcome to October!
It’s officially Autumn, my very favorite season. Kari brings her usual gentle cheerfulness to this month’s forecast, the theme of which seems to be relationships and learning to balance the needs of others with our own needs. This is an area of great growth potential for me, for sure.  Later in the month, the moon slips in to Scorpio (the sign the moon is in in my own birth chart), deepening everything.

Enjoy Kari’s beautifully articulated forecast, and have a wonderful October!

Update and Marie Forleo’s Interview with Brene’ Brown

Happy Almost-Equinox, Everyone!
Life here in Goshen continues to settle down for Jason and I as we adjust to the much higher vibrational level of our new home, Jason makes his way back to work after an extended time off due to an injury, and I find my center once again amid all the changes. I am blogging a little less and my efforts at building my business are stalled because my laptop has undergone an injury of its own (a cracked screen with spiderwebs of dark blue bleeding out from the site of the injury). In spite of all the change and some challenges, our lives feel more gorgeous than ever. Working in the garden revives and restores me in a way I had only glimpsed before living here, and the house itself feels like both a fortress and a sanctuary. So many small shifts in our consciousness are happening on a daily basis just from living in this home. But that’s a different post.

In order to help restore myself and protect my energy, I have begun listening to music and videos on my phone while at work. Yesterday, I had a newsletter from Marie Forleo featuring her interview with Brene’ Brown, who has a new book out called Braving the Wilderness. For those of you unfamiliar with Brene’s work, here is an excerpt from the home page of her website, brenebrown.com:

The official line: I’m a research professor at the University of Houston where I hold the Huffington Endowed Chair. I’ve spent the past sixteen years studying courage, vulnerability, empathy, and shame. I’m the author of four books: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, and Braving the Wilderness.

The bottom line: I believe that vulnerability – the willingness to be “all in” even when you know it can mean failing and hurting – is brave. I do NOT believe that cussing and praying are mutually exclusive. And, I absolutely believe that the passing lane is for passing only.

This interview really moved me and reminded me of my little-girl self, who campaigned bravely for kindness and believed it her moral duty to protect those who could not protect themselves, never name-call, and always try to see the best in others.  My grown-up self is a little more cynical and a little more hands-off, but I feel myself returning to that open vulnerability and it both frightens and excites me. I feel like it is the best of me coming back to the fore. That’s why I so dearly love people like Brene’ and Marie Forleo, and I follow their work more closely than others’. I hope you find as much value in this interview as I did. There are some vital insights here that are crucial for the times we find ourselves in now.

Kari Samuels’ September Forecast

With seeming lighting speed, summer is transitioning in to fall, my absolute favorite season, and we are on the brink of September. I look forward every month to Kari’s forecast, as she seems to have such a sweet and gentle way of letting us know which energies are doing what, and such helpful advice for how to work with them.

I have not yet watched this one, but I know it’s just chock full of goodness.  I hope your last few days of August are glorious, and wish you a magnificent September!

New Business Name and September Specials

I have been working on building my own business as a teacher of spiritual concepts, Reiki practitioner, and Akashic Records reader for a couple of years, now, with varying degrees of success. My commitment to it has been lacking, though, and so the success I really want from my business has been elusive, to say the least.

Several months ago, I began working with The Morrigan. One of the major components of that work is opening myself up to bringing my skills, knowledge and gifts to others so that they can, in turn, shine their light more brightly into the world. She has been pushing me at every turn to write, share, teach, and help. Doing so means that I must set aside my fear of exposure, of being seen, of being thought a fraud or a pretender.  She reminds me that I have spent the best part of my 43 years learning, reading, interacting with non-physical Guides, Angels, and Teachers, healing my own splintered psyche with the techniques, concepts, and practices that I want to teach to others. I’ve absorbed hundreds of books, videos, and articles, spent hours journaling, meditating, visualizing, and changing my mindset. If I am not ready now to share what I know, I will never be ready.

With that in mind, I offer my first official services under my new business name (the first name I have created specifically for it…) :

Welcome to Ananda Grove
Intuitive and Spiritual Coaching!

forest-portal

My first offering is a short term program created by working with several women I know personally. It is a Targeted Healing program, designed to address a specific, stubborn block that has not responded well to other healing methods. It combines chakra work, Reiki, and work in the Akashic Records in a 5 week program. Included in the program is the following:

  • 5 full, one-hour distance Reiki sessions with email follow up
  • Chakra scans included in each Reiki treatment
  • 2 Akashic Records sessions to clear any lingering past life entanglements
  • Includes past life, alternate life or other work in the Akashic Records
  • AR sessions are scheduled 1 at the beginning of the program time and 1 at a time of your choice
  • Every session – Reiki or Akashic Records – has email follow up so you have your summaries for later review
  • All sessions are conducted via email and/or phone
  • Total program time is 5 weeks
  • Total cost for 5 Reiki treatments, 2 AR sessions, 5 Chakra scans, and email support is $525.

If you would like more information about what Reiki is and how a distance session works with the chakra scan, please read my Reiki FAQ. For more information about the program or to get started, please contact me at linettecchance@gmail.com

I also offer one-off Reiki sessions and Akashic Records sessions.

Reiki Distance Healing Sessions:
Reiki is a healing modality that helps the recipient’s own body heal itself. Distance treatments include a chakra scan and are conducted at the client’s convenience with a follow up via email detailing the images, messages, and any other pertinent information received at each chakra point. One additional follow up email is included in the cost of the session.

I only offer one-hour sessions, as the chakra scan that happens along with the treatment is difficult to restrict to less than that. The recipient does not have to be immobile for the entire session.

Distance treatments with chakra scan are $73.  If you would like to bundle treatments, please contact me for more information and pricing.

Akashic Records Sessions:
The Akashic Records are a repository of all of a person, place, animal, or situation’s thoughts, feelings, and actions across all timelines and planes of existence.  There is really no limit to what the Records can be used for. I specialize in Past Life readings, where we address a current life issue within the context of previous lifetime traumas. This offering is especially for those who have spent time doing mindset work for specific issues, with little success.

AR sessions are 30 minutes or an hour long, and conducted by phone or email. The cost is $45 for 30 minutes, and $73 for an hour.

Lastly, Reiki Level 1 Certification classes are now forming in Goshen.

Reiki I Certification Classes:

  • Classes forming now for September and October
  • Reiki level I classes cover:
    • History of Reiki
    • Reiki cleanse
    • Ethics of Reiki
    • General discussion of the nature of Reiki
    • Hand positions for treating self and others
    • Monetary exchange for treating others
    • Reiki level I attunement
    • Practice treating self and others
  • Classes are 4-5 hours long (depending on class size), and include a vegetarian lunch (or feel free to bring your own)
  • Cost is $150, with a $50 discount if paid two weeks in advance of class date

Please email me at linettecchance@gmail.com to discuss class dates

Hello, August! and, Kari Samuels’ Monthly Forecast

Here we are looking toward Autumn from the late summer glory of August. July was a challenging month for many, including me, what with Jason’s knee injury, getting settled into our new home, and adjusting to the massive energy uplevel that came with the move. I’m looking forward to August being a time of continued integration of new, higher frequencies, gardening, and breathing life into my infant business (more on that later).

I look forward every month to Kari Samuels’ forecast, in which she blends astrology, numerology, tarot, and spiritual guidance. I am sharing her forecast for August here, and it looks to be a time of intense clearing and seed-planting.

That’s all I’ve got for today. Enjoy the video!

Updates and Kari Samuels’ July Forecast

Good morning, everyone!
I wanted to take a moment and let you all know I haven’t forgotten about you; I have just been busy moving into the beautiful new home so many of you helped make a reality for us. I am working on a post about the whole experience, including the emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects, complete with photos.

Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy the beautiful and knowledgeable Kari Samuels’ July numerological and astrological forecast.

Happy Summer!

Planting Paradise

Sharing this beautiful post from my friend, Laura. Thanks in large part to her and her awesome husband, as well as several other friends, Jason and I will be making this place our home at the end of this month!
To say that this place is a dream come true for us just doesn’t do justice to our journey. I will write more about that once we get settled in to the new place, but for now, I leave you with Laura’s gorgeous photos.

Laura Bruno's Blog

The first summer we lived here — 2013 — this median facing an ugly view required a date with two batteries worth of weed whackers at least three times per week. We’re talking fast growing, out of control weeds on a strip of land with giant holes and rock hard, uneven soil, and an often flooded driveway. It crushed my soul to see this median as we approached our house.

I can barely believe the difference four years makes! This same strip is now a rain garden, bird and butterfly paradise, with serviceberry trees, Robinhood roses, sunflowers, lilies, milkweed, bachelor’s buttons, love in a mist, cosmos, and more. The fragrance alone is worth the trip. Last year, those roses bloomed from late May through the end of November with barely any care. Birds ate the hips this winter and spring.

Don’t ever doubt that you can change the world, one…

Unfiltered Thoughts on Creating Your Reality

Creating your own reality does not mean that you decide what you want, imagine every detail, wave your magic wand, and BANG! You wake up to the world you created, whole and complete.

At least it doesn’t mean that for me. And I suspect it doesn’t mean that for a lot…dare I say, most….people.

Instead, creating your own reality really happens in the small choices you make every day, moment to moment, about what you will and won’t believe, what you will and won’t give your attention and focus to, what you will and won’t allow into your life.

A shift happened inside me at some point in the last two years. I decided to just believe whatever I want to. A big, ole F you to anyone who thought I was nuts, stupid, gullible, or childish. I had long been drawn to “magickal” things and ideas…energy manipulation, manifestation, moving sideways along alternate realities, faeries, tree beings, and on and on. I was afraid to surrender to what I feared some would view as a child-like indulgence of imagination, especially since I was heavily invested in being the smart, studious girl I had earned a reputation for being. Smart girls and faeries did not go together in my world. But, little by little, I began to see that I could re-write the story of myself. I wasn’t stuck being the character I had created for myself. Just like a figure in a story, I could erase parts and change them. So, that’s what I have been doing.

It all really started with learning to accept certain things about myself, and peel away things that I had taken on, but that no longer suited me. For example, I have always loved knowing how things work. It’s a near-biological need to understand why this happens when I pull, push, twist, or throw that. That part of me has helped me begin to understand how to get what I want, how to manipulate the laws that govern our physical plane to move myself in the direction I want to go. For me, it is truly no different from understanding why my car goes when I push on the gas pedal (although some things are more important for me to retain than others…lol) Accepting my need to understand meant that I could strip away my feelings of nosiness, guilt, even shame, for probing into things that some considered none of my business, or that led me to information that was not always backed up by scientific research.  I do dearly love research, but I found that only accepting things that had a scientific backing no longer served me. So I let it go.

The work of accepting myself and stripping away things that are not myself led to moments of being allowed to glimpse the Mystery. I had what I have since called a Waterfall moment, when it felt like my head opened up and pure loving energy flowed in. The experience last for about 15 minutes, and it changed me. I started to see things out of the corner of my eye. I found Reiki and my friend Laura, who has mentored me and loved me as friend, sister, and child for lifetimes. I began to hear music in the still dark. I began to notice things about others that were different from my memory of them.  I began to find that if I sent loving energy to someone who was being rude or mean to me, they often came back either entirely changed or changed toward me. And I began to believe my eyes and ears and intuition.

In each moment that I see, hear, or sense something that is outside the norm, I find that I have a split-second decision to make: do I trust this or do I not trust this. Do I accept this as real or do I not accept this as real. It comes down to an almost subconscious choice to trust myself and the Universe.  But I can make that choice because I did all the other work, all the small, slow steps leading up to this. The Veil is parting wider for me because I chose each time the opportunity presented itself to look to the other side and not turn my back. When I heard the voice and felt the waves of energy from my Tree friends, I opened my heart and hugged them with my arms, even though I felt silly the first few times and wondered if I was losing my mind. I did not turn my back on Them and pretend I didn’t hear. And the first time I felt that an animal had a message for me, I accepted it for truth and went about trying to figure out what the message was. And when I saw a flit of iridescent wings and an echo of giggles, I stood in wonder and thanks for the gift of having seen my first faery since childhood. For every new Mystery glimpsed, I offer thanks, and I refuse to turn my back any more. This is how I create my reality. This is how you will create your reality, too.

Acknowledge what you want. Devote your attention to looking for the things you want. Be aware of what is reality for others, for it could impact you, too, especially in the beginning, but do not allow yourself to be drawn into their version of what is true. It’s like being aware that there are other tv channels playing other things, but since you don’t want to watch those other channels, they cease to mean anything significant to you.

You will find whatever you look for. I promise.
